Geneiveve Pearl Cross, Age 92, of Albany passed away Saturday, June 15, 2024.
In loving memory of a remarkable woman who embodied the true essence of love, faith, and family. At 92 years old, she touched the lives of many as a devoted mother, cherished grandmother, faithful Christian, and pillar of unwavering love. Born on December 28, 1931, Geneiveve Cross was a mother, she nurtured her children with a heart full of unconditional love and boundless compassion, shaping their lives with wisdom and grace. A devoted wife, she shared decades of companionship and unwavering love with her beloved husband, Howard Cross of 76 years. Her legacy of selflessness and devotion will forever be cherished by those who knew her. As a grandmother and great-grandmother, she delighted in the joys of family gatherings, creating lasting memories filled with laughter, warmth, and love. Her presence brought light and joy to the lives of her grandchildren, leaving an imprint of love that will endure through the generations. Her unwavering faith in Christ guided her path and infused every aspect of her life with grace and humility. Her commitment to her Christian values was a source of strength and inspiration to all who knew her, reflecting the depth of her spirit and the purity of her heart. As a beacon of love and kindness, she exemplified the true meaning of family, creating a legacy of unity, support, and unwavering bonds that will endure beyond her physical presence. Her love was a constant source of comfort and security, a guiding light that illuminated the path for those she held dear. In the thirty eight (38) years she had a retail market, she took great pride in giving to those who could not afford food. She was always ready to provide to those in need. As we bid farewell to a beloved mother, grandmother, Christian, and beacon of love, we find solace in knowing that her spirit continues to shine brightly in our hearts. May she rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love and light that she so freely gave during her time on earth. She will be always in grace in the presence of Jesus Christ.
She was the daughter of the late Reed and Gladys Jarvis. She was the wife of the late Howard Willen Cross. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Jesse Jarvis, Hugh Jarvis, Glenn Jarvis, and Mary Shelley.
She is survived by her son, Dr. Tracy Cross and wife Jordan, her daughter, Diane Cross, 2 grandchildren, Annie Cross and Mary Willen Cross, 1 great-grandchild, Emersyn Glover, and 1 sister, Joyce Claiborne.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Cedar Hill Church in Geneiveve Cross’ honor.
Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
