John Dee Beaty

June 24, 1942 — July 17, 2024

Albany

John Dee Beaty was born on June 24, 1942 and departed this life on July 17, 2024 at the age of 82. He was the son of the late Reed and Capitola (Dalton) Beaty.

He is survived by his daughter, District Court Judge Scarlett Latham (Jerry) and his son Brent John Beaty; one sister, Kathryn Talbott (Steve); five grandchildren, Alexander Beaty (Angela), Camille Beaty, Corinne Bohart (Tyler), Valarie Latham and Blaine Beaty; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

John, called “John Dee”, by most who knew him served our country in the United States Army and was a member of the 101st Airborne Division known as the “Screaming Eagles” paratroopers. He was a farmer for most of his life and loved the outdoors as well as all animals. He especially enjoyed watching all the many different types of wildlife on the farm. He had accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and had been baptized several years ago. In his later years he enjoyed sitting near the creek on his farm and reading his Bible, collecting old tractors and automobiles and spending time with his family and friends who he would join for breakfast most mornings.

He will be greatly missed but his friends and family take much comfort in knowing that he is now safe at home with our Lord and Father.

The family will receive friends on Friday, July 19 from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at 2:00 PM. Services will be held at Talbott Funeral Home in Albany, Kentucky. Burial will be in the Beaty Family Cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by the DAV Chapter 105. Talbott Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
